Good Thing...

this rain wasn't coming down Sunday night!!! We, probably, would still be stuck at home!

Monday:

In Reading we are describing characters and their reasons for their actions.  Yesterday we read a story about a little tiger who enjoyed disturbing other animals when they were being calm and quiet.  We described him as fierce, loud, little and confident.  Why did he disturb the other animals: that's what tigers do, he wanted to play, he wanted everyone to know he was fierce.
We used a bubble map (describing) to describe our character and and multi flow map to show his reasons for his actions (cause and effect)!

Science was FUN... we are still talking about ROCKS...so we did a little investigation.
First we talked about finding rocks that were soft enough to write with...We all said we have found those!  I then let everyone write on black paper with chalk!
Then...

I love listening to all my little scientists make predictions based on properties!  Look at them "wafting"!!
After, I asked them what they think all of these things plus the chalk had in common...they are ALL white! haha I love it!!! Yes, they are all white. What else...after a little bit someone asked, "did all of these come from ROCKS?"  YES...YES...YES...We then used the bubble map to describe our "substances"!  The properties they came up with were very impressive!
minty, clean, white, soft, smooth, rough, sticky...
Toothpaste, baby powder and salt!  WOO HOO

Buckaroo!

Have a wonderful day!
